In 2017 The Sahayak Trust partnered with the Education Department in Wardha District to launch a school training program. One day theory and practical training supported by an educational kit consisting of Training Manual and DVD and package of a variety of seeds was made available to the schools participating. 579 schools were given training between Jan 2017 to September 2017 and a survey was conducted in January 2018 to ascertain how many schools were implementing the programme, what difficulties they faced, how useful the training and training material was etc. The main aim of the program is to add nutrition value to the school midday meal through inclusion of a variety of vegetables in order to encourage children to eat more healthy food, to inculcate knowledge about nutrition and anaemia amongst children and to help improve Hb levels, especially of adolescent girls. To motivate schools taking part in this programme The Sahayak Trust instituted a number of trophies.
